Hi, I’m Jordan. 👋🏼
I’m a Senior Platform Engineer based in Melbourne, Australia. I build the infrastructure other engineers depend on - CI/CD platforms, observability stacks, deployment pipelines - with a focus on automation, repeatability, and making complex systems straightforward to operate.
I’ve been doing this since 2017, starting as a graduate at MYOB and now working in Group Security at Commonwealth Bank. Along the way I’ve shipped platform decisions worth millions in cost savings, led small teams, run technical workshops for 20–30 engineers at a time, and mentored engineers across various stages of their careers.
Outside work, I make watercolour paintings (sold at jmpa.io) and collect caricatures from wherever I happen to be travelling. I’ve lived in Geelong, Melbourne, and Edinburgh.
Things I care about:
- CI/CD that’s fast, visible, and boring to operate - pipelines that ship reliably and page nobody at 2am
- OpenTelemetry and treating observability as a first-class concern, not an afterthought
- Writing Go carefully - typed errors, small interfaces, code that reads clearly six months later
- Bash as a serious tool, worth structuring properly
- Mentoring engineers who are earlier in their careers
The resume has the full work history. The workshops are self-guided technical deep dives. The blog has occasional writing.
